BIJELJINA, JUNE 12 /SRNA/ - The President of SNSD Milorad Dodik stated that the construction of the Banja Luka-Belgrade highway is the most important infrastructural project, which fulfills the centuries-old aspirations of connecting the Serbian people on both sides of the Drina River.
"We are building connections that have been denied to the Serbian people for centuries, because they thought communication between the two states should be prevented. I hope that one day the commitment to one people - one state will prevail," said Dodik.
He pointed out that it is up to this generation to build those roads.
Dodik thanked the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić for not rejecting a single idea important for development.
"From Kuzmin to Rača, a full-profile highway and a bridge over the Sava River, financed by Serbia, have been built, and I am grateful for that," said Dodik at the ceremony in Velika Obarska near Bijeljina, on the occasion of the official start of the construction of the Bijeljina-Brčko highway section.
He pointed out that Srpska will continue to work together with Serbia and that everyone will be intensively engaged in building the highway route from Bijeljina to Rača.
"Republika Srpska has partners, it is not isolated, and today it shows predictability regarding projects. Currently, projects worth over six billion are being implemented in Srpska," said Dodik.
He expressed his belief that this highway section will be completed in three years.
"We did not receive EU support for this project, which is why we wanted to do it ourselves with Chinese partners. In impossible circumstances, we created and started such things. Republika Srpska should be proud of the people who are capable of designing this," said Dodik, noting that 110 kilometers of highways have been built in Srpska.
He pointed out that China is implementing all its projects in Republika Srpska, noting that in the Federation of BiH there is not a single sustainable project with Chinese partners, and he wants that to be kept in mind.
"Long live Serbia, Republika Srpska, China, the entire free world, long live the politics of Presidents Trump, Putin, and Xi Jinping, who want to make the world a stable place to live. We support such policies," stated Dodik.
