DODIK: AGENCY FORMED AS PROOF OF SRPSKA'S SUBJECTIVITY

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 16 /SRNA/ - SNSD President Milorad Dodik stated that the Insurance Agency of Republika Srpska was established 20 years ago, in difficult political circumstances, as proof of Republika Srpska’s subjectivity and its determination to protect what it is entitled to.

Dodik said that many people have contributed to strengthening the Agency, and that today this institution is recognized as an important factor in regulating relations in the insurance sector and in the effort to preserve that jurisdiction for Republika Srpska, despite constant attempts to transfer it to another level of decision-making.

"Behind this agency stands successful work in regulating the insurance market, everything necessary to ensure visibility and success in global competition," Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka ahead of the ceremonial academy marking the Agency's 20th anniversary.

He expressed confidence that the Agency will, in the future, achieve greater visibility and authority and further help ensure that the insurance market is properly regulated and beneficial to both policyholders and institutions engaged in insurance activities.

"Republika Srpska has, throughout all these years, been consistently working to preserve what belongs to it. We have not wanted or created anything that does not belong to us under the Constitution. Through the work of such agencies, Republika Srpska seeks to show that it takes care of itself, that it has the right to govern itself, and that it knows what its competencies are," Dodik said.
