DEFENSE TEAM TO FILE APPEAL WITH STRASBOURG COURT AGAINST BiH COURT RULING

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 21 /SRNA/ – SNSD leader Milorad Dodik said that his defense team will file an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg against the ruling of the Court of BiH, but stressed that the judiciary and the decision-making system can no longer be trusted because everything has been politicized.

“An appeal will be filed… We need this to fulfill formal requirements in order to bring the matter back to the political level,” Dodik told RTRS, adding that the political aspect will be addressed in the coming months.

He noted that the court includes German judges who, as he claimed, would certainly not vote against Christian Schmidt.

“And we are aware of that, even though they should be examining whether something is legally correct,” Dodik added.

The ruling in question is a verdict of the Court of BiH sentencing Dodik to one year in prison and imposing a six-year ban on political activity for failing to comply with decisions of Christian Schmidt.
