DEĐANSKI: SERB PERSPECTIVE GETTING GREATER ATTENTION IN WASHINGTON

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ – The world no longer has time for Bosniak warmongering narratives, which will soon become completely irrelevant, because the US administration also wants to hear the Serb side, political analyst Stevica Deđanski said. He said the presence of Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović at a reception hosted by US President Donald Trump was evidence of that change.

Deđanski stressed that the world was changing and that the reception Cvijanović received in the United States sent a message that the US administration wanted to hear the Serb position as well.

"That change is visible to anyone who wants to see it. Could you have imagined this three or four years ago? Could you have imagined a direct representative of the United States and Trump visiting sites of Serb suffering in Kosovo and Metohija and Republika Srpska and speaking about Serb victims?" Deđanski pointed out.

He added that, in his view, Serb victims had previously been ignored and that Serb children did not even have the right to cry.

"We achieved this through our consistent and honest policy, and that is now gaining importance. That is why I say the Bosniak narrative can still poison relations and create chaos, but its influence is now much smaller and will soon become completely irrelevant," Deđanski said.

He argued that statements by Denis Bećirović and other Bosniak political representatives in BiH were losing influence because, in his view, they were based on false and constructed narratives.

"The story that Serbs are to blame for everything and Bosniaks for nothing, that Serbs want separatism while Bosniaks do not, that no longer holds water," Deđanski said.

He added that the world was changing, as was the US administration's approach toward Republika Srpska, pointing to the lifting of sanctions on certain Republika Srpska officials and the appropriate level of recognition shown to Cvijanović.

"This only shows that we should continue to fight for our position and not allow ourselves to fall into the traps of ideologically driven politicians who still live in the past and rely on hatred toward Serbs to win votes. The world no longer has time for such warmongers," Deđanski said.
