BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 6 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, told SRNA that the court proceedings against President Milorad Dodik were conducted unconstitutionally, and therefore it was to be expected that the BiH Constitutional Court would reject the appeal filed by his defense against the verdict of the BiH Court.
"Those who unconstitutionally initiated and conducted the proceedings against Dodik had to bring the matter to an end in the same unconstitutional manner. The appeal was an excellent opportunity for the judiciary to correct the deviation and the intention we have witnessed over the past two and a half years while the case was ongoing, and to act in accordance with the Constitution," Cvijanović said.
In a new episode of SRNA’s podcast, Cvijanović emphasized that there is now an opportunity to continue the proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and expressed her expectation that the procedure will begin soon.
She stated that Republika Srpska already has — and will continue to gain — many international friends and partners who understand its aspiration to have a clearly defined constitutional position within BiH.
"Today, unlike twenty years ago, Republika Srpska has many friends around the world with whom it can communicate — but unlike our Bosniak colleagues, we do not do this to misuse someone’s position or to act against anyone. We work toward our sincere goal — peace, stability, and ensuring that everyone enjoys their rights, instead of having to fight every day just to exercise their constitutional rights", Cvijanović emphasized.
Cvijanović, who also serves as vice president of the SNSD, said she is pleased that next year in Republika Srpska will bring increases in salaries and pensions, as well as the planned investment cycle in the entity.
The podcast featuring Željka Cvijanović, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, will be available to SRNA service subscribers tomorrow at 10:00, as well as on SRNA’s YouTube channel and social media platforms.
