FOČA, SEPTEMBER 12 /SRNA/ – Thanks to the significant efforts and funding provided by the Republika Srpska Government, we have a more developed and stronger Republika Srpska today, and we must protect it and defend its interests and capacity both at home and abroad, Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović said in Foča.
After touring Foča University Hospital and meeting with its management, Cvijanović said she was pleased with what she had seen and heard regarding the hospital's facilities and equipment, as well as with the feedback from patients who will receive treatment there.
She said that the figures and projects carried out in Foča through cooperation between the local authorities and the Republika Srpska Government demonstrated the efforts being made to strengthen local communities.
"We are working together to strengthen our local communities and make significant progress in healthcare, education, transport infrastructure, utilities and everything else that is important for the lives of our people," Cvijanović stressed.
She added that transport infrastructure remained a particular challenge.
"As President /Milorad/ Dodik would say, we have also taken on some of these issues in order to resolve them and ultimately open ourselves up to the wider world and the region, including neighboring countries," Cvijanović added.
She said that strengthening local communities in all areas demonstrated both the readiness and capacity to defend Republika Srpska.
"Just as we defended our freedom when times were at their most difficult, today we must defend it in every possible way, through political means, democratic procedures and everything else that is important, while also being capable of developing it, municipality by municipality and city by city, ensuring that what we do serves the interests and well-being of our people," Cvijanović pointed out.
She added that this was a responsibility they all shared toward Republika Srpska.
"I want it to become more developed every day, so that the next time we visit any part of our Republika Srpska, we can see how much progress has been made compared with previous years," Cvijanović said.
She expressed her deep gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the implementation of the projects, particularly the Government and the president, for their considerable efforts and financial support.
"There was a time when it was unimaginable to hear figures like these and see projects of this scale being carried out one after another, but this is a different Republika Srpska today. We must protect it, preserve its capacity to develop and ensure that it has the strength to defend its interests, both at home and abroad," Cvijanović concluded.
