PETROVAC-DRINIĆ, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović said that Republika Srpska institutions must be strongly focused on the needs of the residents of the municipality of Petrovac-Drinić, particularly in view of the specific challenges of life in rural areas, demographic challenges, and the need to improve infrastructure and public services.

Speaking to reporters during a visit to the municipality of Petrovac-Drinić, Cvijanović stressed the need for constant communication between the local community and the Government of Republika Srpska, so that they can jointly identify and implement projects that could contribute to improving citizens’ financial situation and living conditions in the area.

“We discussed which infrastructure projects are the most important, the situation regarding the most important resource in this area, forestry, as well as the conditions at the health centre and everything else that our residents need,” Cvijanović said.

She announced that Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić, together with the relevant ministers, would soon visit the municipality of Petrovac-Drinić, stressing that such visits should be part of continuous communication between the republic and local institutions.

“There must be continuous communication and concrete measures developed to improve living conditions in Drinić,” Cvijanović said.

She particularly pointed to the challenges faced by rural municipalities, including social vulnerability and a high proportion of elderly residents.

For this reason, Cvijanović said, special attention must be directed towards these groups of the population.

“Regardless of how difficult the circumstances may be in rural municipalities such as this one, with socially vulnerable people and a large elderly population, our attention must be focused precisely on them,” Cvijanović stressed.

She emphasized that the institutions of Republika Srpska are at the disposal of Drinić, as well as all other local communities, but that specific circumstances require additional attention and support.

Cvijanović said that Drago Kovačević, the mayor of Petrovac-Drinić, has already begun talks with the relevant ministers, which will continue with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, in order to find concrete solutions to issues of importance to residents of this local community.

“The institutions of Republika Srpska are here for this municipality, just as they are for all other municipalities, but, of course, with increased attention, given all the shortcomings and difficulties faced by residents here,” Cvijanović stressed.

Speaking about political engagement, Cvijanović said that the SNSD has high expectations and that, through cooperation between the local and republic levels, it will seek to ensure tangible progress and better living conditions for the residents of Drinić
