CVIJANOVIĆ PAYS TRIBUTE TO KUSTURIĆ AS A SYMBOL OF HUMANITY AND SERVICE

BANJA LUKA, MAY 6 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović has stated that Head of the Aviation Department of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior Boban Kusturić will be remembered as a dedicated humanitarian and patriot, whose work has been and will remain a guiding example for younger colleagues and those yet to come.

"I was deeply shaken by the news of the tragic death of Boban Kusturić. Boban will be remembered as a man who, throughout his entire professional career, helped others, saved human lives, their property and our natural resources," Cvijanović stated.

She emphasized that Kusturić's untimely passing represents an irreparable loss, above all for his family, friends and colleagues, as well as for the eternally grateful Republika Srpska.

"May he rest in peace. I extend my condolences to the family of Boban Kusturić, with a prayer that God grants them strength and comfort in these difficult moments," Cvijanović wrote on Instagram.

Kusturić /52/ worked as a pilot in the Army of Republika Srpska from 1997 to 2005.

After that, he continued his career at the Directorate for Civil Aviation of Republika Srpska as head of the Rescue Helicopter Unit "SAR" of Republika Srpska.

He served as director of the Helicopter Service of Republika Srpska from 2008 until April 2025, and following its reorganization and the establishment of the Aviation Department, he served as its head.

He was awarded the Order of Miloš Obilić by the President of Republika Srpska.
