LAKTAŠI, JANUARY 27 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović, emphasized that investment in education is an investment in the future.
Cvijanović noted that investing in education does not only mean investing in accommodation capacities and school facilities, but also educating children, reconnecting upbringing with education, taking care of Serbian traditional values, and everything that holds together a community such as the Republika Srpska.
"The school system of the Republika Srpska plays a huge role in this," Cvijanović told reporters in Laktaši, where she attended a St. Sava's Day academy at the Secondary School Center.
Speaking about the Secondary School Center in Laktaši, Cvijanović pointed out that both local and republican authorities worked together to establish this school facility, which is an important part of the educational system of the Republika Srpska.
"It means a lot for the local community, but also for the surrounding areas. This is a good joint project, carefully planned," Cvijanović stressed, congratulating students, parents, teachers, and the school management on St. Sava's Day.
The Serbian Orthodox Church today celebrates St. Sava, the founder of the Serbian Church, state, and education system. St. Sava's Day is marked in all schools in Serbia and the Republika Srpska as the school patron saint's day.
