SARAJEVO, MAY 3 /SRNA/ - The Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, is attending the commemoration marking 34 years since the killing of JNA soldiers in Sarajevo’s Dobrovoljačka Street, who were attacked by Muslim paramilitary forces.

Cvijanović, together with the Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers, Srđan Amidžić, joined a peaceful walk through Dobrovoljačka Street along with other participants, including Republika Srpska ministers Radan Ostojić and Draga Mastilović.

A heavy police presence has been deployed in this part of Sarajevo to ensure the safety of participants, and traffic has been suspended in the area.

A peaceful walk and the laying of flowers are scheduled for 11:00 in what was formerly Dobrovoljačka Street, now Hamdije Kreševljakovića Street.

Upon returning to Istočno Novo Sarajevo, wreaths and flowers will be laid at noon in the city park near the monument to the 65th Regiment of the JNA and the Republika Srpska Army.

A memorial service was held this morning at the Church of St. George the Great Martyr to mark 34 years since the events in Dobrovoljačka Street, where, according to the Republika Srpska Center for Research of War, War Crimes and the Search for Missing Persons, at least 28 JNA members were killed on May 2 and 3, 1992.
