ĆURIĆ: SUCCESSFUL COOPERATION WITH VIENNA

TREBINJE, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ - Trebinje Mayor Mirko Ćurić stated that a visit by a delegation from the Boxing Federation of Austria to this city represents a continuation of successful cooperation with Vienna, and emphasized that on February 6, Trebinje will be a partner in organizing the St. Sava Ball in the Austrian capital.

"We discussed sports and economic topics and presented our potential. We expect that by the end of the year, a number of businesspeople from Austria will come to Trebinje, and I am convinced that this cooperation will yield significant results," Ćurić told reporters after hosting the delegation led by the President of the Boxing Federation of Austria Igor Miketić.

He stated that Trebinje is the first local community from Republika Srpska to partner in organizing the St. Sava Ball, which speaks of good relations between the two cities.

Miketić praised the hospitality and beauty of the city, noting that the delegation toured sports facilities and expressing his confidence in successful future cooperation.

"I am certain that we will develop major projects here in the future and that boxing in Trebinje will reach an even higher level, because you have exceptionally young and talented boxers," Miketić said.

During its two-day visit to Trebinje, as part of the European Week of Sport, the delegation from the Boxing Federation of Austria learned about the sporting potential and tourist attractions of this city in the south of Republika Srpska.

The delegation included decorated Austrian boxers Michael Derouiche, bronze medalist at the World Championship in Liverpool, and Marcel Meinl, a member of Austria's national team.
