ČUBRILOVIĆ: WE WILL FOLLOW DECISIONS OF INSTITUTIONS OF SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 28 /SRNA/ – The President of DEMOS Nedeljko Čubrilović told SRNA that the decision of the BiH Central Election Commission /CEC/ to call early elections for the President of Republika Srpska should never have been made, and that this party will follow the decisions of the institutions of Republika Srpska.

"We will hold a session of the party Presidency ahead of the scheduled Assembly. We are following the decisions of our institutions and official bodies and are acting accordingly," said Čubrilović.

He emphasized that such a decision does not contribute to calming the situation.

"It should have long been considered how the situation can be eased. I do not think that such decisions will solve anything. We will follow the official position of the Government and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska," Čubrilović stated.

The CEC decided that early elections for the President of Republika Srpska will be held on November 23.

By its conclusions of August 22, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska rejected the possibility of holding early elections for the President of Republika Srpska and requested all authorities of Srpska and units of local self-government not to undertake any actions related to their implementation.

At that time, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted a decision to call a referendum regarding the verdict of the unconstitutional BiH Court against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the decision of the BiH Central Election Commission on the termination of President Dodik's mandate, and determined that the referendum will be held on October 25.

The referendum question reads: "Do you accept the decisions of the unelected foreigner Christian Schmidt and the verdicts of the unconstitutional BiH Court rendered against the President of Republika Srpska, as well as the decision of the CEC on revoking the mandate of the President of Srpska Milorad Dodik?"
