BILEĆA, JANUARY 13 /SRNA/ – Members of the Bilećki Borci Barracks will carry out a series of training activities aimed at meeting the standards required for an exercise scheduled for the coming year, said barracks commander Aleksandar Ćosović today, noting that they will also work with civilian structures in providing assistance in the event of natural disasters.
Ćosović emphasized that members of the Second Infantry Battalion from the Bileća barracks also carried out a considerable number of training sessions, field exercises, and assistance to civilian structures in cases of natural disasters over the past year.
He said that today members of the Second Infantry Battalion, who preserve the tradition of the Army of Republika Srpska, are celebrating Christmas, the greatest Christian holiday, at the Bileća barracks, extending his greetings to all Orthodox believers.
"Christmas is a time of love, peace, and togetherness, and values such as compassion, self-sacrifice, and hope are well known to soldiers who have taken an oath to protect their people and their homeland, which is why they serve as examples of courage, honor, and integrity," Ćosović told reporters on the occasion of the Christmas celebration at the Bilećki Borci Barracks.
He noted that members of the Second Infantry Battalion support a significant number of activities dedicated to preserving the tradition of the Army of Republika Srpska, particularly in eastern Herzegovina, as they are present at the marking of the most important events and dates of the former brigades of the Army of Republika Srpska.
"This is important because increasingly younger personnel are joining the Armed Forces of BiH, and in this way we pass on knowledge about the existence of the Army of Republika Srpska and its tradition, so that they may continue along that path," Ćosović stressed.
