ĆORIĆ: GREAT INTEREST IN NEW MODEL OF HOUSING LOANS

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 5 /SRNA/ - Acting director of the Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska /IRB/ Nedeljko Ćorić told SRNA that there is already a great interest for the new model of housing loans, which are marketed directly through the IRB, and that hundreds of users already visited the institution in the first three days, asking for information about the conditions for a loan.

Ćorić said in the SRNA podcast that the new model represents a significant step forward in the work of the IRB, which for the first time directly markets housing loans to citizens.

"This is a new opportunity for the citizens of Republika Srpska to get housing loans on the most favorable terms on the market and with the longest repayment terms," Ćorić said.

According to him, the maximum amount of the housing loan was increased from BAM 170,000 to BAM 200,000, while the limit for extension and adaptation of residential units was increased from BAM 75,000 to BAM 100,000.

Ćorić noted that the highest interest rates offered by IRB more favorable than those that can currently be obtained from commercial banks, and pointed out that all interest rates are fixed.

He announced that after the introduction of direct housing loans, this institution will develop new models of financial support for the economy, entrepreneurship and agriculture with the aim of providing more favorable sources of financing.

According to him, the goal is to provide agricultural producers and people who start their own businesses with access to cheaper capital, which would increase their productivity and business efficiency.

Ćorić noted that IRB will adjust credit lines in accordance with needs to improve the standard of citizens.

"The next step of the IRB is loans to support the economy, which will especially apply to female entrepreneurs. We are analyzing different areas in order to find out in which direction we should move," said Ćorić.

Ćorić stated that the IRB is also working seriously when it comes to the establishment of payment transactions, and the receipt of SWIFT is a confirmation.
