BANJA LUKA, JUNE 18 /SRNA/ – American investors are showing interest in investment opportunities in Republika Srpska, Acting Director of the Investment-Development Bank of Republika Srpska /IRBRS/ Nedeljko Ćorić said after participating in the Invest Srpska Forum in Chicago, where he presented the institution's activities and investment programs.
The forum focused on presenting investment opportunities in Republika Srpska, with special emphasis on its business-friendly tax policy and competitiveness compared with the United States, particularly the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago.
Ćorić said IRBRS representatives held a series of meetings and took part in a major investment conference.
"This was our first visit to the United States and our first opportunity to present what we do. We are looking for partners who can help us create better conditions for businesses and citizens in Republika Srpska", Ćorić said.
According to a statement from IRBRS, discussions focused on investment frameworks between the United States and Republika Srpska and on opportunities to establish institutional cooperation with key US organizations in order to attract American investment.
The Invest Srpska Forum, held on June 16, was dedicated to presenting the economic and investment potential of Republika Srpska and was organized by IRBRS in cooperation with the Consulate General of BiH in Chicago.
The event brought together representatives of institutions, companies, and organizations from the United States, as well as members of the Serbian diaspora, who had the opportunity to learn more about Republika Srpska as an investment destination, its incentive policies, public investment projects and key economic initiatives.
Specific investment opportunities were presented in sectors including energy, infrastructure, tourism and other areas of the economy, as well as opportunities within free and business zones.
The forum was supported by BiH Consul General in Chicago Tatjana Telić, Serbian Consul General in Chicago Marko Nikolić, representatives of the US Commercial Service within the International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce, US Commercial Service Regional Director Dan Kim and Illinois Director Bethany Bennick.
Organizers and participants assessed that the forum contributed to a better understanding of investment opportunities in Republika Srpska and created a foundation for further cooperation with interested US partners, aided by direct contacts established during the event.
