CONTRACTS SIGNED FOR CO-FINANCING THE PRODUCTION OF THREE ANIMATED SHORT FILMS

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 7 /SRNA/ - Director of the Audio-Visual Centre of Republika Srpska Anja Ilić today signed contracts in Banja Luka with producers and authors for co-financing the production of three animated short films, for which BAM 167,540 has been allocated.

Ilić said that these are thematically and stylistically different films, but that all three are of great importance for the development of the animated film sector in Republika Srpska.

"We believe that the films will be very successful, because they have already entered the international scene at the development stage, and that significant international co-productions for these projects will also take place," Ilić told reporters.

Director and producer Mladen Đukić said that his film A Difficult Decision deals with the struggles of a teenager who, in his own way, goes through the challenges of growing up and finds a way to fit into society.

"The film is intended for young talented people, to show them that there is a solution to every challenge that arises in life," Đukić said.

Producer Sanja Đurić pointed out that the film Through the Blizzard is based on the work of the same name by Petar Kočić, and that the project was launched with the aim of bringing this short story closer to new generations through the language of contemporary animation.

"We also want to present to the international professional community and audiences the new generation of filmmakers in Republika Srpska who work in animated film, as well as our rich cultural heritage," Đukić said.

For the project Through the Blizzard by director Igor Đurić and producer Sonja Đurić /Sonet/, BAM 90,000 was approved; BAM 42,540 was approved for the film A Difficult Decision by director and producer Mladen Đukić /Aeon/; and BAM 35,000 was approved for the film "The Secret of the Fat-Legged Ducks" by director Tijana Šipka and producers Grigor Bjelošević and Sanja Perković /Art Scena/.
