BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 2 /SRNA/ – Chairperson of the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska Srebrenka Golić condemned the attack on the property of the delegate of the Bosniak Caucus in this Council Dževad Mahmutović, whose car was set on fire in Tuzla, emphasizing that a swift and timely response by the Tuzla police and prosecutor’s office is necessary.
"I strongly condemn setting delegate Dževad Mahmutović's car on fire, and I call on the competent authorities to establish all necessary facts as soon as possible and to find the perpetrators of this heinous act," Golić said, condemning the attack on Mahmutović both in her own name and on behalf of the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska.
She stressed that such incidents should not occur in democratic societies, especially not in the sensitive circumstances in which BiH currently finds itself, the Council of Peoples stated.
"That is why a swift and timely reaction by the police and the prosecutor’s office in Tuzla is very important, in order to clarify the crime, arrest and prosecute those responsible, and therefore avoid any potential politicization of the case," Golić stated.
Golić extended her support and encouragement to Mahmutović and his family to overcome these difficult moments.
A fire broke out this morning in the center of Tuzla, destroying a Mercedes vehicle owned by Dževad Mahmutović, delegate in the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska.
