BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 19 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of the Interior Željko Budimir told SRNA that no incidents have been reported so far during the pre-election campaign in Srpska, and that the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MoI/ is securing the election material.
"There is no institution that can better protect the integrity of the upcoming snap elections, which were unfortunately imposed, but MoI will demonstrate that there is a democratic environment in Srpska," Budimir said.
He emphasized that any potentially negative actions will be sanctioned in accordance with the law.
Budimir stated that the Republika Srpska MoI is taking all necessary measures to ensure that the upcoming snap presidential elections proceed in a democratic and safe atmosphere, and that he does not expect any disruption of public order and peace.
"We have formed a ‘task force’, and our task is to ensure that the Sunday /November 23/ elections, as one of the democratic mechanisms, are fully carried out," Budimir said.
