BUDIMIR AND DAČIĆ DISCUSS IMPROVING COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF SECURITY

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 18 /SRNA/ - The Ministers of the Interior of Republika Srpska and Serbia, Željko Budimir and Ivica Dačić, met today in Banja Luka to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two ministries in the field of security.


They agreed that regional stability is of key importance and that the institutions of Republika Srpska and the Republic of Serbia will continue working on strengthening security capacities and protecting citizens, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska.

The ministers emphasized the importance of continuous and intensive cooperation in combating organized crime, terrorism, illegal migration, as well as all forms of cross-border crime.

Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of operational information, joint activities of police agencies, and coordination in crisis situations.

The meeting also agreed on improving cooperation in the area of training and professional development of police officers, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the coming period, as the development of police personnel is one of the key segments for strengthening institutional capacities and effectively addressing modern security challenges.

Minister Budimir expressed gratitude for the support that educational police and military institutions of the Republic of Serbia provide to the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska in the education and professional training of police officers.

The interlocutors assessed that the cooperation so far has been at a high level.
