BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 11 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik extended his sincere condolences following the death of Boro Kapetanović, a contemporary Serb poet, prose writer and children’s author, to his family, friends and the entire cultural community.
Dodik stressed that with the passing of Boro Kapetanović, Serb literature has lost a creator who left a deep and distinctive mark through his work, particularly by nurturing the written word intended for the youngest readers and contributing to the preservation of the culture of remembrance.
His poem "Jasenovac", Dodik stressed, represents a powerful literary testimony to the suffering of the Serb people during the Second World War and a reminder of the duty to save the truth about Jasenovac victims from oblivion.
Dodik said that through this great work, Kapetanović preserved a part of the collective memory and contributed to a culture of remembrance that will outlive his time.
"In this difficult moment, I extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to his family," Dodik noted.
