BORAC DEFEATS VIKINGUR IN FIRST LEG OF CONFERENCE LEAGUE PLAY-OFF

REYKJAVIK, AUGUST 20 /SRNA/ - Football players of Banja Luka's Borac defeated hosts Vikingur 3-1 in Reykjavik tonight in the first leg of the Conference League play-off.

Borac went into halftime with a two-goal lead, with Luka Juričić scoring the opening goal in the 23rd minute following an assist from Sebastian Herrera.

Miloš Jojić scored Borac's second goal two minutes later, with Juričić providing the assist.

The hosts reduced the deficit in the 75th minute with a penalty converted by Sigurdsson after Esiti brought down Trandarson in the penalty area.

Luka Juričić sealed the final score in the 86th minute after Pavle Đajić's shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Borac had the support of around 50 of its most passionate fans, who traveled to Iceland.

A potential qualification for the Conference League group stage would see the Banja Luka people repeat its success from two years ago, when it reached that stage of the competition for the first time before being eliminated in the round of 16.
