BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 8 /SRNA/ - The director of the Republika Srpska Memorial Center Denis Bojić emphasized today in Banja Luka that the Central Memorial dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Defensive–Patriotic War exists so that the names of the heroes remain permanently present in the public space, namely, that they are never forgotten.
"If memory loses its voice and explanation, over time it becomes fragile and susceptible to manipulation, which must not be allowed," Bojić said at the unveiling of the Central Memorial on the occasion of the Republic Day.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska was founded in a complex and uncertain time, but it was a time of courageous determination.
"It is our duty to build the first museum dedicated to the creation of Republika Srpska so that we have a space for educating children and all people about the just struggle of the Serb people," Bojić stated.
At the unveiling of the Central Memorial, a documentary film was shown featuring testimonies from the families of soldiers who fell in the Defensive–Patriotic War.
On the occasion of January 9, the Day of Republika Srpska, the Central Memorial dedicated to a total of 25,830 soldiers who fell in the Defensive–Patriotic War of Republika Srpska was unveiled and consecrated in Banja Luka today.
