BOJIĆ: ESTABLISHING MULTIMEDIA MUSEUM – SRPSKA’S STRATEGIC INTEREST

BANJA LUKA, MAY 30 /SRNA/ - Acting Director of the Public Institution Memorial Centre of Republika Srpska Denis Bojić told SRNA that the documentation and filming of video testimonies of the families of fallen soldiers of the Republika Srpska Army and civilians during the Defensive-Patriotic War is currently underway, and that establishing a multimedia museum is a strategic interest for the Serb people.

He expressed gratitude to the institutions, particularly to the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, for supporting the establishment and operations of the Memorial Centre.

"The most important goal is the creation of a multimedia museum dedicated to the creation of Republika Srpska. We are now working on the prerequisites for creating the museum. One of them is collecting as much material as possible to become part of the museum collection," Bojić emphasized in SRNA's podcast.

He noted that Serb families were unprepared for the 1990s conflicts, which is evident from the testimonies collected by the Centre, pointing out that their neighbours from other ethnic groups were aware of a different scenario.

"We failed to recognise those signs and suffered the consequences. It all began with job dismissals, isolation. That narrative is the same for all Serb families, regardless of location, which clearly shows that the Serb people were not prepared for what was coming," said Bojić.

Bojić also spoke about cooperation with institutions from Republika Srpska and Serbia that have recognised the importance of producing films on national themes, the need for more featuring content focused on the suffering of Serbs in the past century, as well as the educational system that will benefit from the testimonies collected through the Memorial Centre project.
