BEĆIROVIĆ LIED AT UN, CVIJANOVIĆ’S PRESENCE SHOWS THAT THE SERB VOICE WAS HEARD

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska rejects everything Denis Bećirović said at the UN, but the presence of Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović is an indication that the policy towards BiH has changed and that the voice of Republika Srpska has been heard, Acting Director of the Office for International Cooperation Ana Trišić Babić said.

Trišić Babić said that Cvijanović’s presence at the UN headquarters in New York was a major recognition, not merely a sign or signal, but also an indication that Republika Srpska's voice had been heard and that it has much to say.

She said that, despite Bećirović speaking on the first day, the chamber was empty, and that his speech was unpleasant to listen to because it was full of falsehoods.

“We in Republika Srpska categorically reject everything Denis Bećirović said in his address to the UN,” Trišić Babić told RTRS.

She stressed that this is not the position of BiH or of all the three constituent peoples; it is not the position of Serbs or Croats, and she believes it is not even the position of the entire Bosniak political scene, but only of one part of it.

She stressed that the diplomacy of BiH, of Dayton BiH, officially no longer exists and that it can now officially be declared dead.

“This is diplomacy exclusively representing the Bosniak side, exclusively the Sarajevo political scene, as we were able to see in New York,” Trišić Babić said.

She noted that those present included former Foreign Minister and current Head of the Mission to the UN Zlatko Lagumdžija, current Foreign Minister in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković, and Bećirović, who, she said, had rehearsed how to read a speech in English.

She also said that it was obvious that they were living in the 1990s or early 2000s, when it was considered very important which day a country spoke at the United Nations, and that they had therefore made an effort to speak on the first day.

She pointed out that, after 30 years, Republika Srpska had reached a very important moment of which we are very proud: for the first time, the Serb member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, was in the UN building at the same time as the Chairman of the Presidency, who happens to always be a Bosniak.
