SOKOLAC, MARCH 25 /SRNA/ - Strahinja Bašević, the mayor of Sokolac, emphasized that the instrumentalization of the judiciary in BiH and its transformation into a political weapon by ill-intentioned foreign actors and the self-serving political elite in Sarajevo will destroy any trace of democracy in this state community, as well as the fragile foundations upon which it stands.

Bašević assessed that the political persecution of the highest officials of Republika Srpska, carried out by the unconstitutional Prosecutor's Office and equally unconstitutional Court of BiH at the behest of an unelected foreigner and with the cheers of the political Sarajevo, is not the application of the law but a blatant attempt to discipline Republika Srpska and its institutions.

"One doesn't need to be particularly sharp to conclude that this entire political-judicial maneuver is an attack on the constitutionality of the Serbian people in BiH. If you persecute the unchallenged leader of one of the two entities, the president of Republika Srpska, you are targeting the Serbian people, their will, their survival, and their right to live freely and on their own terms. No one can expect us to remain silent or turn a blind eye to such attempts to humiliate and violate the Dayton constitutional order. On the contrary," emphasized Bašević.

He pointed out that everyone must keep in mind the fact that the Serbian people in Republika Srpska stand with their president Milorad Dodik and that they know that he, together with the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, is defending the Dayton constitutional order in BiH.
