SOKOLAC, AUGUST 13 /SRNA/ - Sokolac Mayor Strahinja Bašević told SRNA that 470 meters of the route for the construction of a slow-vehicle lane across Mount Romanija were cleared in just 25 working days, and that investments in the Sokolac municipality are not an election campaign, but rather a demonstration of the responsible approach of the authorities in Republika Srpska toward every local community.
Bašević denied claims by Nebojša Vukanović, leader of the Justice and Order List, who has attempted through his posts to portray the construction of the third lane across Romanija as an election campaign, stressing that there are currently 25 active construction sites in the Sokolac municipality.
"Vukanović is spreading lies and manipulating the people. His claims that the machinery has left the construction site and that this is an election campaign are false," Bašević stressed.
Bašević said that around BAM 11 million is currently being invested in Sokolac, describing it as the largest investment cycle in the past 20 years.
Bašević says that the Sokolac municipality began stabilizing and plan of activities for the coming period at the beginning of last year, while the first phase of all investment processes began at the start of this year.
"We are in an investment drive that did not exist in previous years, at least not on this scale," Bašević said.
