BANJAC: WE WILL SUPPORT THE SNSD’S PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ – The Leader of the NPS /People’s Party of Srpska/, Darko Banjac, told SRNA that his party, together with the DNS /Democratic People's Alliance/, will support the SNSD's candidate for Republika Srpska president in the upcoming snap elections.

Banjac has emphasized that it is now essential to maintain absolute unity among the partners in the ruling coalition.

"Therefore, we will not be the ones to stand apart, we will move in the direction of supporting the SNSD’s candidate, because unity is now necessary," said Banjac.

Banjac expressed regret that absolute unity among all politicians in Republika Srpska has not been achieved in the fight against the illegal actions of Christian Schmidt, certain foreign embassies, and all those supporting the unjust political process against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

He noted that the previous position of the NPS and DNS was that there should be no participation or nomination of candidates in the presidential elections called by the Central Election Commission of BiH /CEC BiH/.

"However, since full unity among all politicians in Republika Srpska was not achieved on this matter and the SDS yesterday announced its candidate, of course we will, following the application by the strongest party /SNSD/ in Srpska, attempt to achieve full unity among coalition partners," Banjac stated.

The SNSD Main Committee unanimously decided at today’s session in Banja Luka that the party will participate in the snap presidential elections in Republika Srpska.

SNSD Leader Milorad Dodik stated that the party would announce the name of its presidential candidate after consultations with coalition partners.
