BRATUNAC, JANUARY 14 /SRNA/ - The Government of Republika Srpska has approved BAM six million for capital and infrastructure projects in Bratunac this year, and BAM one million has already been disbursed, enabling the municipality to announce a tender by spring and select a contractor for the construction of a kindergarten with a capacity of 300 places, Bratunac Mayor Lazar Prodanović told SRNA.

"This also allows us to continue the expropriation of land for the construction of a bypass road around the urban area of Bratunac," Prodanović said, expressing his gratitude to the Government of Republika Srpska.

Prodanović said that cleaning the riverbeds of the small rivers flowing through Bratunac is also planned, to prevent floods they could cause.

According to Prodanović, the funds provided by the Government of Republika Srpska this year will be used to continue the expansion of the municipal water supply system from Bratunac to Kravica and Konjević Polje, replace the roof, and reconstruct the sports hall, replace roofs on the existing kindergarten building and at the Vuk Karadžić Elementary School, as well as to repair flood damage and upgrade the Rajska Plaža picnic area and the village of Tegare.

"The improvement and asphalting of local roads, as well as parking areas in Bratunac, will also continue," Prodanović said.

The municipality of Bratunac has been granted BAM six million under the Public Investment Program, for which a total of BAM 147,740,700 will be allocated from the budget this year. The Government of Republika Srpska has designated priority projects it will support, including those in Bratunac.
