BIJELJINA, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - At least seven buses from Bijeljina will depart on Monday, September 7, for the funeral of General Ratko Mladić in Belgrade, head of the City War Veterans Organisation Miodrag Stevanović told SRNA.
Stevanović said there is an overwhelming desire among residents to personally pay their final respects to the immortal Serb hero and that, if necessary, additional buses will be organised.
"A large number of residents will travel to the funeral in private vehicles," Stevanović said.
The buses from Bijeljina are scheduled to depart on Monday, September 7, at 7:00 a.m. from the Central Monument to Fallen Soldiers in the city centre.
Following the death of General Mladić in The Hague, candles were lit in Bijeljina's central square and a book of condolences was opened at the city gallery.
General Ratko Mladić died in a detention hospital in The Hague on August 27. A plane carrying General Mladić's remains arrived in Belgrade from The Hague yesterday. The body was subsequently taken to the Military Medical Academy for an autopsy.
