BELGRADE, OCTOBER 29 /SRNA/ – Political analyst Dragomir Anđelković told SRNA that President Milorad Dodik's participation in the International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk demonstrates that the Eastern powers see him as a sincere ally.
Anđelković emphasized that the East has no doubt about Dodik's intentions, even when he seeks to establish some partnerships in the West, because they understand that Republika Srpska must maneuver carefully and cannot afford a direct confrontation with the entire Western bloc.
According to him, it is very important for Republika Srpska and the Serb people in general to strengthen ties with powers that counterbalance the West, since within the Western order there is little room for the Serbs.
Anđelković believes that this does not mean there should be no connections with certain Western factors, such as the circles gathered around US President Donald Trump, who are sovereigntist in orientation and do not push the Euro-Atlantic line, the worst for the Serbs, i.e. Soros line.
"We should rely on powers that are competitors to the Euro-Atlanticists, whether they are in the East or within Western structures that oppose the globalist approach, which has been extremely harmful to the Serbs," Anđelković said.
He stressed that cooperation with Eastern factors who support the Serbs is therefore an important part of the broader system Republika Srpska is building.
"This cooperation should be carried out in a way that does not close the cooperation opportunity with some in the West, because only in that way can we achieve something, given that we are located in a region where the West still has a dominant influence," Anđelković pointed out.
During his stay in Minsk, President Dodik met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
