BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik said that it was time for BiH to decide to withdraw from the International Criminal Court and leave the Rome Statute, which Republika Srpska has been calling for.

Dodik said the United States was absolutely right in saying that no international institution, including the International Criminal Court, can be above the sovereignty of states and that international justice must not serve as an instrument of political pressure.

He highlighted that Republika Srpska had been warning about this for years and fully understood what it looked like when the law was applied selectively, with political interests masquerading as impartial international justice.

"It will be interesting to see whether political Sarajevo will support this position of the US administration," Dodik said.

If the US has the right to protect its sovereignty from an institution it believes has exceeded its mandate, Dodik stressed, then it is entirely legitimate for BiH to withdraw from that institution as well.

"Republika Srpska insists that such a decision be made at the BiH level. No justice is better than injustice," Dodik wrote on X.
