AIM IS TO PREVENT SECURITY THREATS

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Police Director Siniša Kostrešević and representatives of the military diplomatic corps in BiH said today in Banja Luka that international cooperation and communication between security institutions are necessary for the timely identification and prevention of security threats.

Kostrešević met with military attachés and representatives of the embassies of the United States, Romania, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Great Britain, China and India, the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior /MoI/ said today.

The meeting focused on opportunities to improve cooperation and exchange experience in the field of security, with emphasis on preventing and countering terrorism, extremism and radicalization, as well as other contemporary security challenges.

Kostrešević presented the activities and experience of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior in preventing and combating various forms of security threats, stressing the importance of the timely exchange of information, professional cooperation and the sharing of best practices with partner institutions.

The representatives of the military diplomatic corps were shown the weapons and equipment used by police officers, as well as other facilities of the Ministry of Interior's Training Centre, the statement said.
