BANJA LUKA, APRIL 20 /SRNA/ - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Republika Srpska Savo Minić told SRNA that since 2012, the line ministry provides support of BAM 40,000 to young agricultural producers who have completed agricultural, technological or veterinary faculties to start agricultural production, and in the previous 11 years, BAM 2.7 million was approved for the self-employment of 99 young engineers.
Minić said that, through the Rulebook on Capital Investments, young owners of agricultural holdings can achieve a 50 percent return on all investments.
He stated that about 20 percent of the total approved capital investments went into the hands of young farmers.
"In addition to this, last year we had the purchase of 'Belarus' tractors only for young people as part of the project 'Village of Republika Srpska - my place for life!". Funds were approved for 161 beneficiaries, for which BAM 7.8 million was allocated," Minić said.
According to him, a number of measures to support rural development have been introduced.
"Support for demographic sustainability was introduced, that is, an incentive for new-born children in rural areas, for which more than BAM one million was allocated for 835 new-born children, that is, BAM 1,000 per child," Minić emphasized.
He pointed out that in the rural area, support was provided for the development of agro, that is, rural tourism, as well as hunting tourism, so that through this measure, support was provided for 156 households and all hunting associations, for which more than KM million was allocated.
"A measure was introduced to support investments in market infrastructure for local communities, so that they would be able to finance access roads, purchase stations, reconstruction of rural homes, playgrounds and everything that is important for improving the quality of life in the countryside, for which BAM 2.84 million has been allocated," Minić said.
