BANJA LUKA, November 18 /SRNA/ – With the oath-taking ceremony of cadets of the 26th and 27th classes of the Police Academy, their training has been officially completed, making them police officers, while 573 of them have been admitted into the ranks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs /MoI/ of Republika Srpska.
The Police Academy is currently training another generation, the 28th class, consisting of 180 cadets, while two generations with a total of 382 students are undergoing education at the High School of Internal Affairs for the 2025/2026 academic year.
At the Zalužani Training Centre in Banja Luka today, nine cadets who completed their training in the 26th class for the needs of the Brčko District Police also took their oath, while an additional 43 cadets from the 28th class are being trained for the same purpose.
Minister of the Interior of Republika Srpska Željko Budimir stated that Srpska has demonstrated its capacity to train its own personnel.
"At this moment we are undergoing substantial staff rejuvenation, which is part of a planned process following the retirement of a number of police officers, so the Police of Srpska is receiving significant reinforcement," Budimir told reporters in Banja Luka after the cadet promotion ceremony.
He added that the security situation in Republika Srpska is satisfactory and that the professional standards of the police are at a good level.
Prime Minister of Srpska Savo Minić said that the Government continuously invests in the MoI.
According to him, young police officers symbolize security in Srpska, and support for them will continue.
The Police Academy in Banja Luka was founded in 1999 and has so far trained 27 classes, a total of 3,660 cadets.
