XIAMEN, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ – Chinese Vice President Han Zheng says China is ready to encourage Chinese companies to invest in Serbia and further develop friendly cooperation between the two countries.
During a meeting with Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović in the city of Xiamen, Zheng stressed that in recent years, under the strategic leadership of the presidents of China and Serbia, relations between the two countries have made significant progress.
He noted that the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić in May provided direction for building a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era, China Media Group reported.
“China is ready to fully implement, together with the Serbian side, the agreements reached by the two presidents, continue to deepen political trust, make use of the provisions of the bilateral free trade agreement, and deepen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, infrastructure and emerging industries,” Zheng said.
He recalled that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Serbia strategic partnership
Mesarović said that the Serbian side attaches great importance to the high-level mutual trust between Serbia and China and once again reaffirmed its adherence to the one-China policy.
She says Serbia is grateful to China for its strong support for infrastructure and other projects in the country and is ready to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with China and continue deepening cooperation in various fields for mutual benefit.
The meeting was held as part of the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
In addition to Mesarović, the Chinese vice president also met with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry Alexander Pulev.
At the meeting with Pulev, Zheng said that, under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, China-Bulgaria partnership relations have developed steadily in recent years.
“The two sides have achieved good results in agricultural and technological cooperation, as well as in other areas, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries,” Zheng stressed.
He added that China is ready, together with Bulgaria, to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, expand the volume of bilateral trade, strengthen investment links, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and promote the continued development of bilateral relations.
“We hope that Bulgaria will actively play a constructive role and promote the healthy and stable development of economic and trade relations between China and the EU,” Zheng said.
Pulev said that Bulgaria attaches great importance to relations with China, wants to learn from China’s development experience, deepen practical cooperation in all areas, and welcomes Chinese companies willing to invest in Bulgaria.
