MOSCOW, JUNE 1 /SRNA/ – NATO wants to change the government in Serbia and install a puppet president who would advocate the Alliance's interests, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the company Srbijagas Aleksandar Vulin told TASS.
He answered affirmatively when asked whether the EU wants to remove Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić from power.
"Brussels has always wanted that," said Vulin, a former Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and former government minister.
According to him, NATO wants to see a weak government in Serbia, including a weak president, rather than an independent politician and Serbian leader.
Vulin stated that Alliance member states would be very pleased to see Serbia in ruins as a result of instability and "shocks".
"They want to control Serbia, push us into conflict with Russia, force us to impose sanctions on Russia, or take some other step in that direction," Vulin said.
He assessed that such attempts by the West have not been successful so far.
"So far they have not succeeded, and I hope they will continue to fail. I hope that the citizens of Serbia will make it clear in the next elections that they strongly oppose such an idea," Vulin added.
