VUJADINOVIĆ CALLS ON EU TO REACT TO HATE MESSAGES AGAINST SERBS

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 19 /SRNA/ – Member of the Serbian Parliament Milimir Vujadinović called on the European Union to urgently react to the hate messages directed at Serbs in the village of Glušci near Metković, as these incidents are happening on EU territory.

"This must be addressed by the EU, because it is happening on its territory, and it is incomprehensible that the European Parliament, the European Commission, and other bodies continue to remain silent about it. I will personally raise this issue with members of the European Parliament when they visit Belgrade in October," emphasized Vujadinović.

He reminded that the southernmost Serb village in Croatia and the only ethnically pure Serb village from Dubrovnik to Šibenik has once again been disturbed by provocations from unknown individuals who drove through Glušci shouting "kill Serb."

Afterward, he said, the same slogans and "ZDS", the abbreviation for the Ustasha-fascist salute "Za dom spremni" /For the Homeland – Ready!/, were sprayed at the entrance to the village.

"Such incidents are a direct consequence of the political actions of the official government in Zagreb over the past decades and the full rehabilitation of Ustashism and fascism, a scourge that has deeply infected Croatian society, even more tragically - the EU country itself," Vujadinović told SRNA, noting that he is a member of the Serbia-Republika Srpska Parliamentary Forum.

Vujadinović pointed out that, during a session of the Parliamentary Forum in Banja Luka yesterday, he demanded an immediate investigation into the case, the identification and arrest of the perpetrators, and that Croatian authorities stop further glorification of Ustashism.

He reminded that in September 1944, 90 villagers from this area, mostly women and children, were taken to Jasenovac, where they were all killed. He noted that it is tragic that in September 2025, an atmosphere of fear is once again spreading.

Vujadinović added that "the media outcry would be unimaginable if, God forbid, slogans like `kill Croat` appeared in Serbia," emphasizing that he would personally stand against it and protect Croat neighbours and friends.

"I am happy to belong to a country and society that holds completely different values from those promoted in Croatia today and, unfortunately, at the heart of the EU," said Vujadinović.

He also mentioned that Serbia, its president Aleksandar Vučić, and the Serbian Progressive Party, as before, will continue to support the Serb people in Glušci, to whom they have already provided help and tried to ease their daily lives.

In the village of Glušci near Metković, which is exclusively inhabited by Serbs, hate messages reading "kill Serb" and "ZDS", the abbreviation for the Ustaša-fascist salute "Za dom spremni" /For the Homeland – Ready!/ were sprayed on the asphalt during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, September 17 to 18. The same abbreviation was also written on a road sign to Glušci, while unknown individuals in a car shouted "kill Serb".
