President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

BELGRADE, JULY 31 /SRNA/ - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that he would likely speak in the coming days with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar about the sale of the Russian stake in the Petroleum Industry of Serbia /NIS/ to Hungary's MOL.

"We expect the agreement to be finalised, and I hope it will be completed," Vučić told reporters.

He added that an agreement on NIS would enable Serbia to increase salaries by 1.5 to 2 percent, which the International Monetary Fund /IMF/ would approve because it knows that Serbia would have a higher growth rate in that case.

He noted that, due to the situation in the Middle East, fuel, especially diesel, cannot be procured, and that low water levels on the Danube are causing additional problems, as nothing can be purchased at the Romanian port of Constanța
