THREE ARRESTED AFTER POLICE SEIZE 85 KG OF NARCOTICS

BELGRADE, AUGUST 6 /SRNA/ – Officers of Serbia's Interior Ministry /MOI/, acting on the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, seized around 85 kilograms of narcotics and arrested three suspects: M.Z., 38, from Kragujevac, I.G., 43, from Čačak and Đ.M., 26, from Belgrade.

During the search of a cargo vehicle stopped in the Belgrade area, in which M.Z. and I.G. were travelling, police found 15 kilograms of cocaine and 36.5 kilograms of marijuana, Serbia's Interior Ministry said in a statement.

Police suspect that Đ.M. had previously collected three packages containing 34 kilograms of marijuana from the two men. The drugs were later found in his possession.

The suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the competent prosecutor's office along with criminal charges.
