BERLIN, AUGUST 20 /SRNA/ - Meteorologists have forecast several supercell storms across large parts of Europe over the next two days.
The severe weather is expected to affect eastern Spain, extending across the Balearic Islands, southern France, Switzerland, Austria, northern and central Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.
The greatest threats are hail, strong wind gusts, heavy rain and flooding, while tornadoes are also possible, Večernje Novosti reported.
Coastal regions of France, Italy, Spain and Croatia are particularly at risk, while Vienna and Austria as a whole are also in the highest-risk zone.
Meteorologists are urging people to exercise increased caution and follow official warnings issued by the relevant weather services.
Parts of Germany have already been hit by severe storms that caused extensive damage. In the town of Wallendorf in Rhineland-Palatinate, a 58-year-old woman was killed when a tree fell on her.
A tornado was also reported in Fürstenwalde on the Spree in Brandenburg.
