GAZIMESTAN, JUNE 28 /SRNA/ – The so-called Kosovo police detained dozens of people at Gazimestan today following a memorial service held in honour of the Kosovo heroes on the occasion of Vidovdan.

As people were leaving the memorial complex, members of the so-called Kosovo police singled out certain individuals and held them in a small temporary structure. A father with his child was also separated from the crowd, and several young women were among those detained, according to Kosovo Online.

The detainees were then transferred into police vans and patrol vehicles and taken to a police station.

Large numbers of members of the special units of the so-called Kosovo police were deployed at the entrance to the complex.

During the Vidovdan commemoration at Gazimestan, there were no Serbian flags or symbols on display, while the songs "Oj, Kosovo, Kosovo," "Crven cvete," and "Vidovdan" were sung.

Before the memorial service, police searched worshippers at the entrance to the complex and distributed leaflets stating that they would not tolerate the display of symbols inciting ethnic or religious hatred.
