SERBIAN SCHOOL STUDENTS TO HAVE REMOTE CLASSES TODAY

BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ - No in-person classes will be held today at elementary and secondary schools in the Gračanica area; instead, classes will be conducted remotely.

The decision was made yesterday by the principals of schools that follow the curriculum of Serbia's Ministry of Education, due to the current security situation and the announced gatherings related to the sentencing of former leaders of the terrorist KLA.

In a message parents received from homeroom teachers last night, no reasons were given; they were only informed that classes would not be held at school but would instead be conducted remotely via digital platforms, Serbian-language media in Kosovo and Metohija reported.

In the north of the province, where the municipalities with a Serb majority are located, there are currently no indications of any changes to regular classes at elementary and secondary schools. However, several faculties of the University of Pristina in North Mitrovica postponed yesterday exams scheduled for today.

The North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly has also postponed a public hearing on the budget until tomorrow.

The Specialist Chambers in The Hague will deliver the first-instance verdict today at 10:00 a.m. in the trial of four former commanders of the terrorist Kosovo Liberation Army /KLA/ — Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi — who are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The atmosphere in The Hague is tense, with Albanians from various parts of Europe arriving in the city since yesterday, carrying Albanian flags and flags of the terrorist KLA, and mass protests being announced for today.
