MOSCOW, MAY 7 /SRNA/ – Preparations for the grand Victory Day Parade in Moscow have been completed, and the general rehearsal for the most important ceremony will be held today in the Russian capital, SRNA's reporter reported.
Preparations for the anniversary of Victory Day over fascism, traditionally marked on May 9, begin weeks in advance and represent a complex and precisely organized process.
The streets of the capital, especially the area around Red Square, become the center of intense activity, and access to the square is strictly restricted, with entry permitted only to invited guests.
Stands for dignitaries have been set up, technical equipment is being checked and the area is being arranged to ensure everything is ready for one of the most important state events in Russia.
Special security measures have been introduced and certain roads are temporarily closed.
Great attention is also devoted to symbolism.
The parade in Moscow serves as a reminder of the Great Patriotic War and the enormous sacrifice made by the Soviet people during World War II.
As May 9 approaches, the atmosphere in the city becomes increasingly ceremonial, with citizens and tourists following the general rehearsals.
This year, during the marking of the 81st anniversary of victory, military school students, cadets and convoys of military vehicles will not participate in the Parade due to the current situation, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced earlier.
The Ministry stated that members of military universities from all branches of the Russian Armed Forces will take part in the Victory Parade.
Aircraft from aerobatic groups will fly over Red Square in Moscow, and at the end fighter jets of the "Su-25" type will color the sky above Moscow in the colors of the Russian flag.
