PATRIARCH: WHERE THE LORD IS, EVERYTHING IS TRANSFORMED

BELGRADE, AUGUST 19 /SRNA/ - His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije said today that people should never abandon their faith and that where the Lord is present, everything is transformed.

The Serbian Patriarch stressed that people should strive to do nothing that would prevent the Lord’s love from working and His transformative power from transforming, delivering, and healing.

After celebrating the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Pašino Brdo, Belgrade, His Holiness said that a person who does not have the Lord, but has everything else, is poor and has nothing.

"We need to open our souls, to believe and to trust in His love," the Serbian Patriarch said.

The Serbian Orthodox Church marks the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord today, commemorating Christ’s Transfiguration on Mount Tabor, when He foretold His suffering and glory.
