BEOGRAD, MARCH 29 /SRNA/ – Former leader of French special forces in Kosovo and Metohija Jacques Hogard stated that the world is already in a kind of third world war, which may have effectively begun with the bombing of Serbia.
Hogard, who is also the author of the book "Europe Died in Priština" said that NATO crossed a red line by bombing Serbia, describing the intervention as a flagrant violation of international law and a breach of borders that should have been guaranteed by the United Nations.
He stressed that in 1999 NATO changed its nature, evolving from an organization established to preserve peace in Europe and deter Soviet aggression into an offensive structure.
"It was the law of the stronger. In Kosovo, it was not law that prevailed, but force - not the force of the KLA, but of its allies NATO and the United States," Hogard told Večernje novosti.
He reminded that Kosovo declared independence in 2008 in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and emphasized the need to return to international law.
"Kosovo and Metohija is part of Serbia. It can have special administration and decentralized governance, whatever you like, but it is part of Serbia. Serbian sovereignty must be re-established there. Perhaps global developments and events in Ukraine, along with a Russian victory that cannot be disputed, will enable the departure of Americans from Kosovo and Metohija and the restoration of national order. That is what I wish for Serbia," he said.
