MOL RECEIVES OFAC LICENCE TO CONTINUE NEGOTIATIONS ON NIS PURCHASE

BUDAPEST, JULY 31 /SRNA/ - Hungarian company MOL received on Friday evening an official licence from the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control /OFAC/ to continue negotiations on the purchase of the Russian stake in NIS until August 28, MOL announced on the Budapest Stock Exchange.

OFAC had previously extended NIS's operating licence until 28 August.

NIS had previously held a licence for crude oil processing until today, as did MOL for the continuation of negotiations.

The United States imposed sanctions on NIS on October 9, 2025, due to its majority Russian ownership.
