MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF SPYING FOR ALBANIAN INTELLIGENCE SERVICE

KRALJEVO, JULY 30 /SRNA/ - A 46-year-old man from Istok, Kosovo and Metohija, was arrested today in the Kraljevo area on suspicion that he had been spying for the Albanian intelligence agency for an extended period, which resulted in the arrest and persecution of several Serbs from the north of the province.

R. T. was arrested on suspicion of having had a cooperative relationship with the Albanian intelligence service operating in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, and of having been tasked with collecting and providing information and intelligence on the activities of former and current members of the Serbian Army, the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and other state security structures, Tanjug reported.

According to the report, this resulted in the arrest of several Serbs by the provisional institutions in Priština and the persecution of a larger number of Serbs from the Zubin Potok area and northern Kosovo and Metohija.

After being questioned as a suspect for the criminal offence of espionage, R.T. was placed in custody for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Kraljevo.
