LINTA: DESECRATION OF SERBIAN CHURCH IN PAKRAC IS A MESSAGE TO SERBS THAT THEY ARE NOT WELCOME

BELGRADE, JULY 24 /SRNA/ - The President of the Alliance of Serbs from the Region, Miodrag Linta, strongly condemned the desecration and robbery of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Pakrac, assessing that such actions send a message to Serbs that they are not welcome in Croatia.

He called on the competent police and judicial authorities to discover and bring the masterminds and the perpetrator of this act of vandalism to justice as soon as possible, the Alliance of Serbs from the Region announced.

Unfortunately, Linta believes, the chances of those responsible being arrested and adequately punished are minimal, as this has not happened in a series of previous cases throughout Croatia.

"The desecration and looting of Serbian Orthodox Church temples in the territory of Croatia aims to cause additional fear, uncertainty, and anxiety among the small number of Serbs, and to send them a chauvinistic message that they are not welcome in their ancestral homes," stated Linta.

He points out that the representatives of the international community in Zagreb bear a special responsibility, and that they should clearly condemn these outbursts of hatred and protect Orthodox temples and the few remaining Serbs in Croatia.
