KOVAČEVIĆ AWARDS COMMEMORATRIVE MEDALS TO PATRIARCH PORFIRIJE AND DODIK

NIKŠIĆ, JULY 29 /SRNA/ - Nikšić Mayor Marko Kovačević today presented commemorative medals to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and President Milorad Dodik at Vučji Do.

The 150th anniversary of the famous battle in which Montenegrin and Herzegovinian warriors defeated the Ottoman Empire is being commemorated today at Vučji Do.

Kovačević said that the presence of the Serbian Patriarch at the ceremony in Vučji Do was proof that the Serbian people still stand under the same banner.

He stressed that over the past 150 years they had "allowed and squandered" a great deal, but had also rebuilt, constructed and defended much, Radio Television Nikšić reported.

"This is our Serbian Orthodox Church, and in 2020 the Serbian people in Montenegro and the faithful experienced a transformed Vučji Do, one that was spiritual in nature, where we once again achieved a magnificent victory," Kovačević stressed, among other things.
