BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA/ - Thousands of citizens are lighting candles in prayer outside the Church of St. Luke in Belgrade’s Vidikovac neighborhood, where the coffin containing the body of General Ratko Mladić is on display, thus paying tribute to the former commander of the Main Staff of the Army of Republika Srpska.


Spiritual music can be heard over the church's loudspeakers, while those present can follow the broadcast from inside the church on several video screens set up alongside the temple.

According to the protocol, honor guards representing veterans' organizations will enter to pay their respects to the general.

Streams of people continue to arrive at the church in Vidikovac, where kilometer-long lines of citizens waiting to pay tribute to General Mladić have formed.

Dozens of buses and more than several hundred passenger cars carrying demobilized soldiers, families of fallen soldiers and citizens have set off from Republika Srpska for General Mladić's funeral in Belgrade.
